Heap buffer overflow in NTFS-3G before 2021.8.22 allows local users to write arbitrary memory or crash the application. ntfs_attr_pread_i reads specially crafted NTFS attributes without sufficient metadata validation, causing a heap buffer overflow. Exploitation requires a malicious NTFS image or external storage and either local access to a setuid-root binary or physical access to an auto-processing system.
