CVE-2021-33217Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Arbitrary file access via privileged Node-RED flows

Published Jul 7, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Arbitrary file access in CommScope RUCKUS IoT Controller 1.7.1.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read or write any file. The embedded Node-RED module accepts flow definitions that name local files, while the web application executes those file operations as root without filesystem restrictions. An authentication token is required, but successful flow deployment can alter account, SSH, and sudo configuration for full root control.
