Arbitrary file write via unchecked ZIP paths
Published Jul 14, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Path traversal in Elements-IT HTTP Commander before 5.3.3.2020.11.16 allows remote authenticated users to write files outside the target folder. The Unpack ZIP feature preserves relative archive paths without validating that resolved destinations remain inside the selected extraction directory. Exploitation requires file-write and archive-unpacking rights, and writes are limited to locations writable by the web-server account.
