Authenticated SQL injection via unsafe UPDATE construction
Published Oct 14, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
SQL injection in Nagios XI before 5.8.5 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary SQL through the Bulk Modifications tool. For some single-configuration option types, the tool places attacker-controlled values into an UPDATE statement without adequate neutralization. Access to Bulk Modifications, typically held by an administrator, is required; on the default PostgreSQL configuration, injected queries can invoke arbitrary database functions.
