CVE-2021-33071

Local privilege escalation via insecure installer permissions

Published Nov 17, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Incorrect default permissions in Intel oneAPI Rendering Toolkit installers before 2021.2 allow local users to escalate privileges. Intel has not disclosed which installer-created files or directories receive unsafe permissions or how those permissions are abused. Exploitation requires local authenticated access and user interaction, and successful abuse grants elevated control over the host.
