Incorrect default permissions in Intel VTune Profiler installers before 2021.3.0 allow local users to escalate privileges. Intel identifies the installer as the affected locus but has not disclosed which installed objects receive overly permissive access or how they are abused. Exploitation requires an authenticated local account and user interaction, and successful abuse grants privileges beyond those assigned to that account.
