CVE-2021-33011

Ethernet communication denial via ICMP flood

Published Sep 10, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Resource exhaustion in all versions of JTEKT TOYOPUC PLC products allows attackers to interrupt Ethernet communications via ICMP floods. The Ethernet interface processes ICMP traffic without adequate resource limits or throttling, so a flood exhausts capacity needed for device-to-device communications. The attacker must reach the same network segment; reported impact is limited to loss of Ethernet communications, with no reported data disclosure or modification.
