CVE-2021-32999Network attack vector

Unauthenticated service crash via malformed command handling

Published Sep 23, 2021 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

Improper exception handling in AVEVA SuiteLink Server before 3.2.002 allows remote attackers to crash the service via a malicious packet. While processing SuiteLink command 0x01, the server fails to handle an exceptional condition and terminates instead of rejecting the packet. No authentication or user interaction is required; the demonstrated consequence is service interruption, while code execution remains theoretical.
