Code execution via project-file out-of-bounds write
Published Aug 25, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Out-of-bounds write in Horner Automation Cscape before 9.90 SP5 allows context-dependent attackers to execute code through a crafted project file. The project-file parser fails to validate user-supplied data before writing it beyond the intended buffer. A user must open the malicious file; successful exploitation runs code with the privileges of the Cscape process.
