Arbitrary code execution via AutoBuild origin checks
Published Apr 4, 2022 · Updated Apr 16, 2025
Origin validation error in AutoBuild in AVEVA System Platform 2017 through 2020 R2 P01 allows remote authenticated users to execute code or cause denial of service. AutoBuild does not properly verify that the source of data or communication is valid, allowing crafted network input to pass an untrusted origin into the component. Exploitation requires high privileges and an enabled AutoBuild service, and AVEVA reports that chained flaws can run code with system privileges or interrupt service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
