Code execution via malformed XLS parsing
Published May 24, 2022 · Updated Apr 16, 2025
Type confusion in Delta Electronics DIAScreen before 1.1.0 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code through a crafted XLS file. The XLS parser inadequately validates user-supplied data before treating it as an incompatible type, producing memory corruption in the current process. Exploitation requires a user to visit malicious content or open the file, and resulting code runs with that user's process privileges.
