CVE-2021-32959Network attack vector

Service crash via malformed SuiteLink commands

Published Sep 23, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Heap-based buffer overflow in the SuiteLink Server shipped with affected AVEVA products allows remote attackers to crash the service. The server mishandles untrusted command 0x05 or 0x06 packets while parsing them and overwrites heap memory. Network access requires no authentication or user interaction; remote code execution remains theoretical, while a server crash is confirmed.
