Code execution via unvalidated DGN buffer write
Published Jun 17, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Out-of-bounds write in Open Design Alliance Drawings SDK before 2022.5 allows attackers to execute code through a crafted DGN file. The DGN file-reading procedure fails to validate user-supplied data before using it, permitting a write beyond an allocated buffer. Exploitation requires an application using affected SDK code to read the malicious file; successful exploitation crashes the process or runs code in its context.
