CVE-2021-32942

Credential disclosure via cleartext diagnostic memory dumps

Published Jun 9, 2021 · Updated Sep 17, 2024

Cleartext credential storage in AVEVA InTouch Runtime 2020 R2 and earlier allows local users to read credentials from a memory dump. WindowViewer retains credentials in cleartext in process memory, causing a diagnostic dump to preserve the credential material. Disclosure requires a privileged user to save the dump in an unprotected location accessible to an unauthorized local user.
