CVE-2021-32941Network attack vector

Root code execution via unbounded playback time parse

Published May 23, 2022 · Updated Apr 16, 2025

Stack-based buffer overflow in ANNKE N48PBB firmware through 3.4.106 build 200422 allows remote attackers to execute code as root. The playback-search handler passes an attacker-controlled start-time string to sscanf, which writes it into a fixed-size stack buffer without a length bound or stack-canary check. Network access to the exposed web service reaches the parser; malformed input reproducibly reboots the recorder, while return-address control enables full device compromise.
