CVE-2021-32940

Memory disclosure or crash via malformed DWG recovery

Published Jun 17, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Out-of-bounds read in Open Design Alliance Drawings SDK before 2022.4 allows attackers to disclose memory or crash the host via a crafted DWG file. The DWG file-recovering procedure fails to validate user-supplied file data before reading from an allocated buffer, so it reads past that buffer's end. The target application must open the malicious drawing through recovery; the bounded consequences are memory disclosure and application termination.
