Code execution via unchecked FPJ buffer write
Published Aug 11, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
An out-of-bounds write in FATEK Automation FvDesigner 1.5.88 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute code via a crafted FPJ file. The FPJ parser fails to validate user-supplied data before writing it past the end of an allocated buffer. Exploitation requires the target to open the malicious file or visit a page that supplies it, and successful execution runs in the current process context.
