Unauthenticated code execution via runProViewUpgrade action
Published Jun 11, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Missing authentication in Advantech iView before 5.7.03.6182 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via NetworkServlet. The runProViewUpgrade action on default TCP port 8080 accepts requests without checking authentication before exposing upgrade functionality. Network access to the servlet is sufficient to run code in the service account context and change application configuration.
