Server file disclosure via external entity expansion
Published May 13, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
XML external entity injection in Chamilo LMS 1.11.x allows remote authenticated users to read server files through XML user imports. The parse_xml_data path in admin/user_import.php passes uploaded XML to Symfony DomCrawler while libxml external-entity loading remains enabled. Administrator access is required; file disclosure is in-band, while code execution additionally depends on the PHP expect wrapper.
