Script execution via preserved pasted image handlers
Published Feb 20, 2023 · Updated Mar 10, 2025
Copy-paste XSS in npm textAngular 1.5.16 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute script via malicious clipboard HTML. The paste path inserts an image with onload and onerror handlers from Microsoft Office-formatted HTML without neutralizing them. A victim must copy attacker-controlled HTML and paste it into the editor; the script then runs in the application's browser context.
