Authenticated command execution via shell-built project commands
Published Jan 26, 2022 · Updated Apr 22, 2025
OS command injection in Gerapy before 0.9.9 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary commands through project APIs. The project_clone and project_parse views concatenate request-controlled repository addresses and parse arguments into commands passed to Popen with shell=True. Any authenticated account that can submit those API requests can run commands with the Gerapy server process's privileges, permitting host data access, modification, or service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
