CVE-2021-32831Public exploit

Arbitrary code execution via compiled property path

Published Aug 30, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Code injection in Total.js Framework before 3.4.9 allows local users with high privileges to execute arbitrary JavaScript via utils.set. The utils.set routine concatenates the supplied property path into generated JavaScript and passes the result to the Function constructor without rejecting executable syntax. Exploitation requires an application to pass an attacker-controlled path to this utility; successful code runs with the Node.js process and can execute commands or hang the service.
