Open redirect via scheme-only URL misclassification
Published Aug 2, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Open redirect in Plone Products.isurlinportal before 1.2.0 allows remote attackers to send victims to an external site via a crafted URL. The isURLInPortal method treats scheme-only input such as https:example.org as internal because parsing yields a scheme without a host. Exploitation requires a victim to follow the crafted link and a browser that resolves the scheme-only form externally, enabling phishing redirects without content modification.
