Arbitrary file overwrite via repeated path roots

Path traversal in affected npm tar releases before 3.2.2, 4.4.14, 5.0.6, and 6.1.1 allows local users to overwrite files via crafted archives. The unpack path logic removes only one root from a repeated-root entry, leaving the resulting path absolute and writing outside the extraction directory. Exploitation requires extraction of an untrusted archive with preservePaths unset; overwriting a startup or configuration file grants code execution in the extractor's context.
