Administrative command execution via class-qualified block methods
Published Aug 27, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
XML injection in OpenMage LTS before 19.4.15 and 20.0.0 through 20.0.10 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands. Mage_Core_Helper_Security::validateAgainstBlockMethodBlacklist compares only a bare method name, so a class-qualified method name bypasses its block-method blacklist. Administrative access to edit layout XML is required, after which attacker-selected block methods can execute arbitrary server commands.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
