CVE-2021-32722Network attack vector

Database service interruption via rapid page moves

Published Jun 28, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

DoS in GlobalNewFiles before 48be7adb70568e20e961ea1cb70904454a671b1d allows remote authenticated users to overwhelm database servers via page moves. The page-move handler issues database work with improper load balancing and without an appropriate index, multiplying query cost during bursts. A low-privileged account able to move many pages quickly can exhaust database capacity and disrupt dependent wiki requests.
