Application crash via mismatched channel-component counts

Out-of-bounds read in JasPer 2.0.24 allows context-dependent attackers to crash applications via a crafted JPEG-2000 image. jp2_decode indexes its channel-to-component lookup beyond the allocated component array when declared channel and image-component counts are inconsistent. Processing the file requires user interaction, and the published proof of concept demonstrates an application abort rather than code execution or data modification.
