CVE-2021-32719Network attack vector

Stored XSS via unsanitized consumer tag

Published Jun 28, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Cross-site scripting in RabbitMQ Server before 3.8.18 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript in a management browser via a federation link. The rabbitmq_federation_management federation status template inserts the consumer_tag value without HTML escaping, so attacker-controlled markup becomes executable page content. Exploitation requires a signed-in user with permission to manage federation upstreams and policies, plus a user opening the affected Federation Status view; the reported impact is browser-session confidentiality and integrity, not broker availability.
