CVE-2021-32694

Application crash via malformed deep-login URL

Published Jun 17, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

An uncaught exception in Nextcloud Android Client before 3.15.1 allows local users to crash the app through a crafted deep-login URL. The deep-login URL handler parses an attacker-supplied URI and proceeds without rejecting an invalid login URL, leaving the resulting exception uncaught. Exploitation requires a malicious application on the same Android device and user interaction with its crafted URL; the bounded consequence is termination of the client application.
