Credential disclosure via unscoped chart download authentication
Published Jun 16, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Information disclosure in Helm before 3.6.1 allows remote attackers to obtain repository credentials through cross-domain chart URLs. ChartDownloader attached the repository's Basic Auth options to archive URLs from index.yaml without restricting their scheme, host, or port. Exploitation requires configured repository credentials, attacker-influenced repository metadata, and a pull or installation of the referenced chart.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
