Unauthenticated code execution via unsafe file operations
Published Jun 14, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Command injection and path traversal in elFinder before 2.1.59 allow remote attackers to execute code through its PHP connector. The minimal connector passes an attacker-controlled archive name to zip as an option and joins untrusted names to filesystem paths without containment checks. The flaws affect the default configuration without authentication; code runs as the web server account, while the quarantine race requires archive uploads and directory listing.
