CVE-2021-32680

Audit trail bypass via unlogged share expiration removal

Published Jul 12, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Insufficient logging in affected Nextcloud Server 19, 20, and 21 releases allows local users to remove share expiration dates unrecorded. Sharing::updateExpirationDate passed a null date to the generic change log path instead of emitting a distinct expiration-removal event. A low-privileged account is required, and the missing event weakens monitoring and forensic reconstruction without changing share access by itself.
