Arbitrary command execution via unescaped Git hashes
Published Jun 8, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
OS command injection in reg-keygen-git-hash-plugin in reg-viz reg-suit before 0.10.16 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands. GitCmdClient interpolates untrusted hash and revision values into shell command strings passed to execSync in containedBranches, logTime, logBetween, and mergeBase. No privileges or user interaction are required, but a crafted Git reference must reach the plugin's snapshot-key workflow.
