Authenticated script execution via unencoded GET parameters
Published Aug 6, 2021 · Updated Oct 25, 2024
XSS in FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer 7.0.0, 6.4.5 and earlier, and 6.2.7 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to run scripts. The interfaces insert crafted GET-parameter values into generated HTML or JavaScript without proper output encoding; disclosed FortiManager loci include the web console sid parameter and HTML Diff label parameters. Exploitation requires authenticated interface access and a user to open the crafted URL, enabling script execution in that user's browser context.
