Credential disclosure via incomplete password encryption
Published Dec 8, 2021 · Updated Oct 25, 2024
Missing cryptographic steps in Fortinet FortiSandbox before 4.0.1 allow attackers with the password store to recover LDAP and RADIUS secrets. The credential-encryption function omits undisclosed cryptographic operations, leaving stored LDAP and RADIUS passwords insufficiently protected. Exploitation requires possession of the password store and is limited to disclosure of the encrypted credentials.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=FortiSandbox before 4.0.1, FortiWeb before 6.3.12, FortiADC before 6.2.1, FortiMail 7.0.1 and earlier
