Unauthenticated code execution via CGI environment manipulation
Published Mar 1, 2022 · Updated Oct 25, 2024
Improper input validation in Fortinet FortiMail before 7.0.1 allows remote attackers to execute unauthorized code via crafted HTTP requests. The web server's CGI facilities accept attacker-controlled request data as environment parameters for the underlying script interpreter without adequate validation. No authentication or user interaction is required; Fortinet reports code or command execution and no known exploitation.
