Host file disclosure via unrestricted log directory
Published May 11, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Improper access control in OctoPrint before 1.6.0 allows remote authenticated users to read arbitrary host files through its web interface. The logging settings accept an attacker-selected directory, and the log browser lists and downloads every file there without limiting entries to .log files. Authenticated access to the logging configuration is required, and disclosure is limited to files readable by the OctoPrint process.
