Unauthenticated command injection via factory reset parameters
Published Jul 7, 2021 · Updated Sep 17, 2024
OS command injection in QSAN SANOS through 2.0.0 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands via the factory reset function. The factory reset handler fails to filter special parameters before processing them as command input, allowing injected operating-system commands without authentication. Exploitation requires network access to the SANOS management service and can compromise confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the storage appliance.
