CVE-2021-3252Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Credential disclosure via unauthenticated GET_PASSWORD request

Published Feb 23, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Credential disclosure in KACO New Energy XP100U XP-JAVA 2.0 allows remote attackers to retrieve plaintext credentials during authentication. The XP100U client sends request code 31, identified as GET_PASSWORD, to the local server, which returns the correct credentials regardless of the supplied password. Network access to that server is sufficient; no prior authentication or user interaction is required, and the reported impact is limited to credential disclosure.
