Unauthenticated appliance reboot via FirmwareUpgrade parameter
Published Jul 7, 2021 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Improper access control in FirmwareUpgrade in QSAN Storage Manager 3.3.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to reboot the appliance. The firmware-update function lacks an authorization check and accepts a function parameter that invokes a device reboot. No authentication or user interaction is required, and successful exploitation interrupts all services provided by the storage appliance.
