CVE-2021-32492Public exploit

Application crash via unchecked DataPool input

Published Jun 24, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Out-of-bounds read in DjVuLibre 3.5.28 and earlier allows local users to crash an application by opening a crafted DjVu file. DataPool::create passes an unchecked input pool to connect, after which DataPool::has_data reads through an invalid pool and triggers a segmentation fault. Exploitation requires a DjVuLibre consumer to process the crafted document, and the demonstrated consequence is an application crash.
