System-privileged file deletion via incorrect permissions
Published Jul 20, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Incorrect permission assignment in Trend Micro Apex One 2019 and Worry-Free Business Security 10.0 SP1 allows local users to delete files. The Security Agent service assigns incorrect permissions to a critical resource, allowing low-privileged code to alter or remove it and interrupt the service. Low-privileged code execution on an affected Windows host is required; system-privileged file deletion can stop endpoint protection.
