Crash via unchecked decoder configuration pointer
Published Aug 11, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
NULL pointer dereference in GPAC 1.0.1 allows attackers to crash MP4Box when a user processes a crafted media file. In gf_media_export_filters, the code checks esd but dereferences esd->decoderConfig without first confirming that decoderConfig is non-NULL. A user must run MP4Box's NHNT export path on the crafted file; the resulting zero-page read terminates the process without reported data disclosure or modification.
