Interpreter crash via NULL iterator dereference
Published Sep 20, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
NULL pointer dereference in Creolabs Gravity 0.8.1 and earlier allows context-dependent attackers to crash the interpreter. list_iterator_next performs a read through a null pointer while the virtual machine processes a crafted Gravity source file, causing a segmentation fault. Exploitation requires a user or host application to execute attacker-supplied Gravity code; the demonstrated consequence is interpreter termination.
