Stored XSS via unsanitized SVG upload
Published Jun 16, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in PageKit 1.0.18 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in another user's browser through a crafted SVG upload. The CMS file-upload path accepts an SVG containing a script element and stores it under /storage without stripping or filtering the executable content. An authenticated uploader must persuade another user to open the stored SVG link, which runs the script in that visitor's browser context and permits unauthorized page actions or data access.
