Unauthenticated code execution via elFinder file writes
Published Oct 7, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Missing authorization in Maian Cart 3.8 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code through its bundled elFinder plugin. An unauthenticated request to admin/index.php invokes elFinder's mkfile command to create shell.php under product-downloads, then put writes attacker-controlled PHP into it. Any network-reachable installation exposing that endpoint permits command execution with the web server process's privileges.
