Command execution via forged cron job request
Published Apr 11, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Cross-site request forgery in Webmin 1.973 allows remote attackers to execute commands through the Scheduled Cron Jobs feature. Scheduled Cron Jobs accepts a cross-origin state-changing request in an authenticated Webmin session and creates a cron entry containing an attacker-controlled command. An authenticated administrator must visit the crafted page, after which the command runs with that administrator's Webmin privileges.
