CVE-2021-3198Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Root shell escape via unsanitized RPM URL

Published Jul 22, 2021 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

OS command injection in Ivanti Endpoint Manager Mobile 10.7.0.1-9 and 11.0.0.1-3 allows remote authenticated users to gain root access. The URL.Source pattern accepts shell metacharacters in the path, and clish passes the value unquoted through /mi/bin/installTools to wget. Exploitation requires CLI access and the enable password, after which injected commands execute as root and provide complete appliance control.
