Local privilege escalation via improper kernel object handling

Elevation of privilege in Microsoft Windows kernel-mode drivers on affected Windows releases allows local users to execute arbitrary code in kernel mode. The kernel-mode driver improperly handles objects in memory, enabling a specially crafted local application to cross from a low-privilege account into kernel execution. Exploitation requires local logon and no user interaction; successful exploitation can expose, alter, or delete data and disrupt system availability.
