CVE-2021-31941

Code execution as current user

Published Jun 8, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Remote code execution in Microsoft Office Graphics allows attackers to run code as the current user when a crafted Office file is opened. Microsoft has not disclosed the faulty graphics-parsing operation or the malformed data that triggers it. Exploitation requires a user to open the crafted file; the Preview Pane is not an attack vector, and resulting code runs with that user's privileges.
